 3 Examples of Companies that used Enterprise applications successfully 

The term "enterprise resource planning" (ERP) refers to a group of interconnected software modules and a single central database that collects data from several business divisions for use in almost all internal business activities. Data entered in one process is instantly accessible in another. Built on thousands of predefined business procedures that adhere to industry standards. 


3 examples of companies that used Enterprise Applications successfully in order to support their business strategy and business model:

1 -Amazon's business model is based on the Internet and e-commerce,  completely customer-oriented, and has its own logistics system. Anyone can sell products through a 100% optimized and user-friendly platform where you can manage everything related to your account, brand, and products.

Amazon's business strategy includes an 'uncompromising customer focus, continuous innovation, operational excellence, and long-term thinking'.

Amazons ERP manages dual order fulfillment, both third-party and direct, tracks inventory levels, initiates automatic replenishment orders, and handles millions of sales and customer interactions every day.

Amazon uses the SAP platform for its ERP needsAs a result it has provided benefits through a multitude of tools in order to manage procurement, identify logistics requirements, process financial reporting and automate the customer experience throughout the order fulfillment process.


2 - Starbucks' business model is based on a model where the majority of its sales come from its own stores and then from licensed stores. Revenue is also earned through royalties, sales of goods and services, and sales of packaged coffee, tea, and other beverages.

Starbucks' business strategy includes 'creating premium customer experiences away from home and work, building strong customer relationships, expanding globally, creating product differentiation, and maintaining consistent branding. This includes promoting an ethical brand reputation'.

Starbucks' ERP is a business management software suite that includes financial management, supply chain management, project management, accounting, and procurement whilst also providing real time inofrmation such as; operational reports, sales and revenue data, expense analysis and stock management metrics.

Starbucks uses the Oracle ERP system. As a result it has provided benefits through the automation of administrative functions and everyday business processes, including; supply chains, finance, procurement, and project management. 


3 - Toyotas business model generates nearly 90% of its revenue from sales of passenger cars and commercial vehicles, and also generates revenue from its Toyota Financial Services subsidiary, providing auto loans, credit card financing and vehicle leasing.

Toyotas business strategy includes 'Market Penetration, by reaching and attracting more customers in the company’s current automobile markets ensuring that it offers products for every market segment, Product Development, supporting the automaker’s growth by attracting customers to new products and Market Development, growing by entering new markets or selling to new market segments'.

Toyotas ERP is used to expand operations and improve manufacturing efficiency whilst managing customer service functions and operations for distributors that service products to customers worldwide.

Toyota uses Microsoft Dynamics 365As a result it has provided benefits through having the capabilities to scale their operations and improve efficiency in the manufacturing side, enabling better visualization and optimization of workflows, impacting employee training.
